Abstract
In this paper, a horizontal magnetic fluid pressure difference sensor based on a compound magnetic core is presented. The sensor is packaged in a glass pipe, in which two permanent magnets are fixed on either side of the pipe to provide restoring force to the compound magnetic core. The movement of the compound magnetic core is sensed via sensing coils. Then the structure and principle of horizontal magnetic fluid pressure difference sensor are illustrated, along with experiments on the laboratory-scale prototype of the horizontal magnetic fluid pressure difference sensor. The results of the experiments show that there is a linear relationship between the input intensity of pressure and the output voltage in a particular range, which indicates the feasibility of the novel magnetic fluid pressure difference sensor.
