Abstract
In this paper, a new hysteretic operator (HO) for hysteresis in piezoelectric actuators is proposed. Based on the constructed HO, the input space of neural networks is expanded from 1-dimension to 2-dimension using the expanded space method so that the multi-value mapping of hysteresis is transformed into a continuous mapping comprised of one-to-one mapping and multiple-to-one mapping. Based on the expanded input space, a neural network is used to identify hysteresis nonlinearity. The approximation performance of an experimental example suggests the proposed approach is effective.
