Abstract
⺠A novel monitoring approach that allows real-time identification of the vegetable oil types is reported. ⺠A low-power microwave sensing principle is exploited. ⺠Reflected (S11) microwave signals vary at discrete frequency intervals depending on the oil type. ⺠Resonant peaks shift is recorded in 6.62-7.81 GHz. ⺠Portable, on-the-spot method for verification of the cooking oil type for compliance with the Food Information Regulation.
