Abstract
⺠This paper introduces a method to track the real-time velocity and capture the dynamic behavior of a person using inertial motion capture system. ⺠A new method for monitoring the real-time velocity of a reference root point on the subject is proposed. ⺠Based on this velocity estimation, the spatial location of the subject can be tracked. ⺠Motions like walking, jumping, running and one leg jumping are properly captured with this self-contained system. ⺠The capability and accuracy of the proposed method in both the velocity tracking and localization are verified using MoCap.
