Abstract

It is very important to monitor the patient's reaction to applied treatment at medical procedures. Blood pressure value is one of the important indicators of the patient's health. Blood pressure can be measured continuously, most often by using invasive methods or at defined time intervals during the standard medical examination. For diagnostic purposes, it would be advantage to measure the blood pressure in the long time intervals during the day or medical examination without using invasive methods. This article describes a laboratory experiment exploring the possibility to evaluate the blood pressure by non-invasively measured biosignals ECG and PPG. The value of the blood pressure is evaluated by delay of the pulse wave. This delay is called the pulse transit time - PTT. The article describes the methodology of measurement together with a description of each parts of the measuring chain. Measuring chain is consisting of hardware for the signal measuring and the software created in LabView for signal processing. A case study is used for the acquired data and the data are processed by means of regression analysis.
