Abstract

The article describes an experimental system for measuring the temperature response of the rock massif known as the Thermal Response Test (TRT), its activity and usage patterns. The response of the rock mass is represented by the value of thermal conductivity of rocks Λ, which characterizes the ability of rocks to conduct the heat. Determination of the value of Λ is the most essential output of measurement. The measurement results are then used in the design of a complex system of boreholes for heat pumps providing heating or cooling of particular object.
