Abstract

This paper's main focus is to present how an expert system can be used in designing SCADA systems with complex functions such as ship stabilization. The expert system's structure was extensively presented by the authors in previous articles, as well as the ship stabilization algorithm which generates a optimal command sequence, from the perspective of energy consumption because the algorithm minimizes the water volumes transferred between the tanks to achieve the required position and orientation. In this paper we describe how the SCADA system is generated and also provide a framework for testing the generated SCADA systems as well as the stabilization algorithm.
