Model Driven Architecture for Engineering Design and Manufacturing

A solution for Engineering design and manufacturing domain has been conceived based on a reference model and MDA (Model Driven Architecture). The benefits generated by using both concepts have been applied in the field of Engineering design and manufacturing using tri-dimensional product development process models. These benefits are described in terms of error reduction, requirement changes, project coordination, information reuse and automation. In addition, the tri-dimensional modelling approach and its foundation are described to demonstrate how can be used in Integrated Product, Process and Manufacturing system development.
