Abstract
Based on the fundamental principle of wind power generation and Betz theory, the wind turbine characteristic curve Cp - λ is discussed in the paper. The curve points to the fundamental theory of hill-climb search (HCS) algorithm. A novel improved algorithm is proposed to overcome the shortcomings and deficiencies of normal method applied in the wind turbine. The correctness and feasibility of the new algorithm are enough verified by MATLAB simulation experiment. The simulation result shows that the improved hill-climb search algorithm has better anti-interference and faster convergence compared to the traditional one.
