Abstract
Supported by the US-China Clean Energy Research Center-Clean Vehicle Consortium (CERC-CVC), the team with researchers from the University of Michigan (UM) and Tsinghua University (THU) developed several battery state of health (SOH) techniques for both offline and on-board applications, including: (1) quantifying the capacity degradation on both the battery cathode and anode using an offline mechanistic model; (2) estimating SOH based on incremental capacity analysis (ICA); and (3) analyzing the interactions between cells in a battery pack during capacity degradation. Both simulations and experimental results are reported in this paper.
