Abstract
Among various parts of a vehicle, tire affects vehicle handling performance as well as ride quality and noise and vibration so the size and the characteristics of the tire should be determined appropriately in early stage of the car development because it also affects major dimensions of the car significantly. In this report, a unique statistical modeling method of tire characteristics is introduced with which tire cornering stiffness can be estimated from tire dimension parameters and tire inflation pressure value only. And examples of initial study of vehicle dynamics design are explained to certify the advantage of the proposed method.
