Abstract
The main result of this paper indicates that the necessary condition for the creation of chaos in the resonator is intersection of the system steady state response with the homoclinic orbit. This occurs when the system steady state velocity or amplitude reaches to the homoclinic orbit maximum speed or amplitude. The critical oscillating amplitudes corresponding to these situations are derived based on the system parameters which can be used to propose the new analytical criteria for chaos detection in resonators.
