Abstract
The general synchronization methods for those chaotic systems having non-continuous was unsatisfactory. In this paper, the chaotic structure of a new fractional piecewise linear system is investigated. The space phase diagram of this fractional order system shows a more complex dynamics comparing with the integer-order system. A control strategy based on the SMC (Sliding Mode Control) having the fractional approaching law is proposed for the synchronization of the fractional chaotic piecewise linear systems. The numerical results illustrate the fractional order SMC can effectively reduces the 'jitter' and improve the accuracy of synchronous motion.
