Abstract
Event-based control aims at reducing the information exchange over the communication network in control systems. This paper presents an extension of an existing event-based state-feedback approach that reduces the communication to quantized state information, which requires a low number of bits to be transmitted over the network. The main results are a maximum bound for the deviation between the behavior of the quantized event-based control loop and a continuous state-feedback loop and a direct relation between the maximum communication frequency and the number of bits to be sent. The results are evaluated by simulations and experiments.
