Abstract
⺠The flow around a train geometry is simulated using DES. ⺠POD and DMD modes is calculated in the wake of the Aerodynamic Train Model. ⺠Flow structures can be analyzed by reconstructing the POD/DMD modes into transient flow fields. ⺠There are two dominant flow structures in the wake, vortex shedding and bending of the counter-rotating vortices. ⺠There are strong similarities between the first fluctuating DMD mode and the two first POD modes, in the wake behind the ATM.
