A standard-based data model for configuration management and maintenance support

The goal of this paper is to define a data model for configuration management and maintenance, taking into account the whole life cycle of assets. First step was to review the systems related to configuration management checking the utilization of standards and norms which are connected in a practical way, and looking for the relationship of the different possible data models used for configuration management systems. A definition of data model is presented organized in 9 layers of information and it is applied in an use case where is checked the problems of the data model with the purpose of improve it.
