Abstract
In this paper, a new identification method for large interconnected systems is presented. A string of systems which all have a full state-space parametrization is considered. The proposed method optimizes the Output-Error of the lifted system by using a structure exploiting Steepest-Descent method. It is shown that the computational drawback inherent to large interconnected systems can be efficiently managed by using Sequentially Semi-Separable (SSS) matrix operations. Finally, a numerical example is presented in order to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
