Abstract
China has abundant long flame coal resources, and the effective utilization of long flame coal is important. Using a tubular furnace reactor, the effects of particle size and ultimate temperature on pyrolysates distribution were investigated, and the evolution characteristics of gaseous products were determined. Experimental results showed that increasing the coal particle size leads to increasing char and gas yields and decreasing tar yield. A temperature of 550 °C was recommended for low-temperature pyrolysis. The characteristics of pyrolysis and combustion kinetics were determined by thermogravimetry-derivative thermogravimetry measurement. Kinetic parameters were calculated by the Coats-Redfern and Flynn-Wall-Ozawa methods. The activation energy ranges for pyrolysis and combustion were also determined.
