Abstract

The Fourth European working conditions survey revealed that, 20 % of workers from the EU-15 and 30 % from the 10 new Member States believed that their health is at risk because of work-related stress. Too often, the tendency to a continuous improvement focuses on efficiency and effectiveness and it lives down the importance of the global consequences on process operators. This paper want to provide a global approach than includes all the aforementioned aspects. The case study of an Italian automotive group is proposed. At first the implementation of a visual workplace is presented and all the connected improvements are highlighted. Then we verified the effects of the new operative approach on the mental workers workload.
