Abstract
In this paper we address a problem of spare parts returns and potential reuse opportunities for a manufacturing system with a single machine M subject to a monotonous and stochastic deterioration. We propose an order/remanufacturing replacement policy to assist the maintenance manager to make the decisions about the quality of the spare part to be reused at each replacement. A condition-based maintenance policy is adopted with three thresholds for order management, preventive maintenance management and corrective maintenance from which the machine is considered failed. A genetic algorithm based approach is proposed and an illustrative example is provided to reveal the application of the proposed policy.
