Abstract
This paper presents a nonlinear process control approach that may potentially be used for large-scale (plantwide) chemical process systems. The proposed nonlinear control law is designed to shape the dissipativity of each closed-loop subsystem. Thereafter, the dissipative subsystems are interconnected according to the network topology and the control law may be tuned to satisfy the plantwide stability. The proposed approach is illustrated by an example of dual nonlinear level control problem.
