Abstract
In this paper sufficient conditions for fixed-structure H2 controller design in terms of solutions to a set of linear matrix inequalities are given. The iterative synthesis procedure converges to a suboptimal solution and must be initialized either with a Schur stable polynomial or with a stabilizing controller. The monotonic decreasing of the norm bound is established theoretically as well as demonstrated numerically with an example.
