Abstract

The ability of diagnosis of the possible faults is a necessity for satellite launch vehicles during their mission. In this paper, a structural analysis method is employed to divide the complex propulsion system into simpler subsystems for fault diagnosis filter design. A robust fault diagnosis method, which is an optimization based approach, is applied to the subsystems of the propulsion system. The optimization problem has been solved within two different tools and the results are compared with two other optimization based approaches. The turbo-pump system is used to illustrate the employed methods and obtained results.
