Abstract
The automotive industry faces actually new challenges, due to a more stringent exhaust emissions legislation. Pressure to lower emissions while maintaining or improving other engine performance parameters required, that the intake air properties be better controlled and matched at every engine operating conditions. In this paper we developed a new control strategy for diesel engine air path. This strategy is carried out under the sliding mode framework. The proposed controller has been tested on recently experimental validated Tubocharged Diesel Engine (TDE) model.
