Abstract
► Under a range of train speeds, the distribution of wheel/rail force conforms to normal distribution. ► There are strong relevance among fatigue ductility index, fatigue strength coefficient and fatigue ductility coefficient. ► The probability curve of fatigue crack initiation is a “S” in shape under random wheel/rail force and random material properties.
