Abstract
⺠Process damping increases both stability boundaries and chatter frequencies. ⺠Tool clamping conditions significantly affect chatter frequencies. ⺠Nonlinear relation between clamping torque and stiffness at tool holder-tool joint. ⺠Strong effect of shank length on the first natural frequency and chatter frequency. ⺠Online chatter detection by in-process excitation via piezoactuators.
