Abstract
A unique feature of vibration assisted machining is tool-workpiece separation (TWS), which brings many benefits in machining process. Generic kinematic equations of vibration assisted milling are firstly formulated, then three types of TWS mechanism are proposed and the requirements to realize each type of TWS are discussed through kinematic analysis and simulation.112
