Abstract
⺠Graphene is modeled by a non-linear structural mechanics model. ⺠The effect of a single hole on the stress-strain behavior is investigated performing tensile and shear tests. ⺠The defect creates new critical crack paths resulting in the decrease of strength and failure strain. ⺠According to the effect on mechanical properties, the holes are grouped in small, medium, and large ones.
