Abstract
⺠Analysis of a two-plane automatic balancing device for rotating machinery. ⺠Support anisotropy, rotor acceleration and non-symmetric imbalance considered in full. ⺠Mathematical bifurcation theory, backed up by numerical simulation results. ⺠The balanced state is found to be robust to the asymmetries.
