Abstract
⺠Investigation of Mode I and mixed mode cracks using strain gradient plasticity. ⺠A large strain finite element model (Hutchinson-Fleck theory) was developed. ⺠The length scale where a strain gradient plasticity is necessary was identified. ⺠The plastic zone size and shape dependence on the length scales was shown.
