Abstract
The process of optimal reconfiguration in electrical distribution networks is a well-known optimization problem. The topological complexity of real systems implies searching through many possible configurations, by changing the status of sectionalizing switches. This paper presents a refined genetic algorithm that uses swarm intelligence to aid the search in the solution space.
