Abstract
This work presents a new laboratory educational device with which both undergraduates and postgraduates may visualize and test classic control laws and fuzzy logic controllers. A platform can move up and down impelled by a propeller attached to an electric motor. The user chooses the control law and its parameters under which the system is driven. The system is supervised by an uncommon sensoring method: a small camera detects the position of the platform and estimates its speed making use of a simple artificial vision algorithm.
