Abstract

This paper is dedicated to issue of identification of nonlinear functions and nonlinear dynamical systems by Piecewise Affine (PWA) linear model in education of system identification. The article presents new Matlab toolbox for modeling and simulation of nonlinear systems. Functions of the toolbox together with GUI application simplifies and accelerates identification of so called PWA GFS model. The toolbox serves as a guide tool in courses of systems approximation. Identification of nonlinear systems is based on novel method of PWA modeling by Generalized Fourier series. The approach provides identification of nonlinear functions of an arbitrary number of variables and identification of nonlinear dynamical systems in ARX model structure fashion from input-output data.
