Abstract
⺠Solute particles in open channel networks behave as stochastic processes. ⺠An original solute transport equation is derived from the stochastic process model. ⺠A cell-vertex FVM scheme discretizes the solute transport equation. ⺠The FVM scheme satisfies the total variation diminishing condition. ⺠Test problems verify high accuracy, stability, and versatility of the FVM scheme.
