Abstract

The Hopf bifurcation is analyzed in a 3 state model of a Continuous Stirred Tank Biorreactor (CSTB), using non structured models for specific growth rates and a Piret-Leudeking model for the product. A description of CSTB dynamics is shown to demonstrate the existence and uniqueness of a solution and the multiplicity of equilibrium points. The Hopf Bifurcation implies the existence of a limit cycle in the domain defined, and then the system presents oscillatory behaviour.
