Abstract
In this paper a novel three-dimensional chaotic system is introduced briefly. A new sliding mode controller is proposed to stabilize the state variables of the new chaotic system in the presence of system's uncertainty. High frequency switching caused by unsmooth control effort is removed by substituting the sign function with a smooth sign-like function. Numerical simulations based on MATLAB software are used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed free chattering sliding mode controller for the new chaotic system.
