Abstract

The Small and Medium Enterprise is the backbone of business and innovation internationally. Information, Communication and Technology firms in this enterprise category are important innovators and exporters. Prevailing economic conditions, however, create instabilities which require understanding and resolution. This South-East region of Ireland case study is representative of many international regions who suffer similar problems. Understanding and addressing systems issues, in this region, through the utilisation of business models can create new knowledge and generate solutions which can inform systems related policy and practices, enhancing international regional stability and sustainability.
