Abstract
In the automated production of composite products, the use of a new technology called fibre placement requires to think about both the automated means of production and the product itself. An integrated optimisation approach would consider the couple product/process as a whole instead of separate them, and this would be achieved in a virtual prototyping platform. We are heading towards an optimisation platform allowing to visualise the geometric aspect as well as the production routing. Criteria have been defined and the setting up of the interface and communication with industrial tools is in progress.
