Abstract
This paper presents a new tool for identification, analysis and design of controllers for systems with dead time which integrates the main control structures used in industrial practice: PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative), DTC (Dead-time Compensator) and MPC (Model Predictive Control). The tool which allows the study of the performance and robustness of many SISO control structures and the comparison of the results obtained in closed-loop, was developed following the theoretical aspects presented on the book Control of Dead-time Processes recently published. Some case studies are used to illustrate the use of the tool.
