Abstract
This paper presents the architecture of the audio codec transform module designed in conformity with the MPEG-4 AAC standard. The module provides forward and inverse transform computation with all defined shapes and sizes. In, particular the module computes MDCT, IMDCT, FFT, and IFFT transforms using the same hardware resources. The module automatically chooses the most suitable transform window length with reference to the signal spectrum. Designed module is synthesized into Altera Stratix II devices and verified with reference to the FAAC/FAAD codec.
