Abstract
The increase of the endurance limit in two different D38MnV5Â S steels used in the manufacture of forged crankshafts was studied in this work. Notched specimens were employed in this study and the behaviour of those materials under cyclic loads before and after a deep rolling process was analysed and compared with the results obtained using smooth specimens. Furthermore, residual stress profiles were evaluated for different deep rolling process parameters by means of X-ray diffraction.
