Abstract

Typically, traffic in large conurbations is regulated by an expensive and complex traffic management centre. In smaller cities, the implementation of a traffic management centre may not be an appropriate solution. A new approach is the development of a decentralised network with the splitting of work and competencies on all actors in a community with equal rights and responsibilities. This paper describes a new method to share traffic data in a cost-efficient way without the implementation of a traffic management centre.
