Abstract

Wireless sensor networks (WSN) technology is increasingly being implemented for modern precision monitoring tasks. In this paper we present a special designed WSN interface for a hardware platform designed to address the needs of wireless sensor networks management. The developed interface allows for collecting data from different sensors placed in the target residential environment, for displaying and analyzing the collected data in real time, and for storing them in a local database. A set of system design requirements was defined that cover the hardware design of the node, the network interface software, and system architecture in order to meet the user needs. Also, the sensors' data are useful for predicting system operation and network failures.
