Abstract
The paper presents neural networks as models for classification in intelligent CAPP systems. For construction of classification models three types of neural networks were used: linear network, multi-layer network with error backpropagation and Radial Basis Function network (RBF). The classification models were compared for obtaining optimal classification. Classification models were done for tool selection to manufacturing operation. The research was done for selected manufacturing operations: turning, milling and grinding. Models for milling operation were presented in detail.
