Abstract
Self-optimizing systems offer new flexibility and adaptability in manufacturing processes. To exploit this adaptability in a proper way is a new challenge for manufacturing scheduling. This paper introduces the major issues in developing scheduling process for self-optimizing manufacturing system and presents a prototypical implementation of a distributed multi-objective scheduling process based on a simplistic multi-objective heuristic search.
