Abstract

In this paper, the speed control for the spark-ignition (SI) engine with power generation is studied. Two control schemes are proposed to reject the electromagnetic torque disturbance caused by the electric loads action. One is a state feedback law with the magnetic torque feedforward which considers the dynamics of the alternator and the state measurement of the electric loads. Another is a L2-gain disturbance rejection control which treats the magnetic torque as the unknown external disturbance without any measurement of the electric loads. Finally, to illustrate the validity of the proposed approaches, some simulation results are demonstrated.
