Abstract
This workshop will discuss the actions required to reduce the adverse and potentially catastrophic impacts of global climate change and the role of SWIIS in bringing about and implementing them. The workshop is introduced by a discussion of the greenhouse effect and global climate change due to human activities and the projected impacts of this global climate change. The main body of the workshop is organized into the following four themes: barriers to action; the future of aviation; the future of nuclear power; and the role of renewables. Each of these themes is introduced by a brief discussion followed by three or four questions.
