Abstract
The micro and macro mechanical characteristics as well as the structure of the manila clam (Ruditapes philippinarum) shell were investigated. The obtained experimental data provides a basis reference to further development relevant clams´ dredging and processing machinery, for the purpose of maintaining the clams´â¯integrity and survival throughout the dredging, processing, storage, distribution and transporting chain prior to sale.273
