Abstract

- Elastic properties of Ti-Nb-Zr alloys are predicted based on CALPHAD modeling.
- Polycrystalline Young׳s modulus limit is found to be 30-40 GPa, larger than that of bone.
- Single-crystal Young׳s modulus shows strong elastic anisotropy on the Ti-rich side.
- Alloys with a Young׳s modulus along the <100> direction matching that of bone are found.
