Abstract
- Chicken muscle elastic behaviour is nonlinear and anisotropic.
- The tensile stress response is two orders of magnitude larger than compression.
- A small percentage of fluid exudation was observed in compression.
- Broadly transverse isotropy was seen for deformations in the fibre direction.
- Clear anisotropy was seen for compression or tension in the cross-fibre direction.
